Good evening,
We have a very busy rest of the week. We have an early dismissal tomorrow so that teachers can continue to work on their masters list for Academic Vocabulary. On Thursday, we have a concert with the Luther music students and finally a field trip on Friday to Jacobsen's farm. Keep your fingers cross for a sunny day with little wind.

Hello,
I am writing this with the rain pouring down and the thunder rumbling. Thought I would let you know that there is much excitement in the third grade classroom as we begin our very first experiments of the year. The students have been working in teams to write their own experiments dealing with matter. The third graders know that matter can be in a solid, liquid or gas form. We will see what we can discover tomorrow. Let the experimenting begin.

Good evening,
The third graders had a fun day using a new math program in the computer lab. This site called First in Math is a place where the students can strengthen their math skills while collecting stickers. The way that they earn stickers is to apply skills that they are learning in class and interaction with this site. The format of this site is a game format. The other great thing about this site is that the students have access at home. Keep earning those stickers third graders.

Hello,
I just wanted to say that the third graders did a great job during their MAPS testing. They all worked so hard and gave them their best effort. Thanks third graders.
We are also getting ready for the big move. For the next several days we will be out of our classroom as they replace our heating system. It will be a rather confusing couple of days but we will be toasty warm in the coming months.

The New School Year 2010
Hi Everyone,
There are so many new things going on in the third grade classroom. I hope that it makes for an exciting year for the third graders. We have a new Smartboard, laptops in the classroom and many new and exciting programs for the students to use. We have a bright new purple wall that has made the classroom feel very much like home. Yes, I have purple in my house as well. It looks to be an exciting year in the third grade. More later.
